Foal Care Tips

We Follow these Guidelines to keep your foal healthy:

  1. Foals are haltered by day two
  2. The foal is led whenever the mare is led – this is such an easy way to break a foal to lead with little or no fight
  3. Cooperative foals are even tied beside the mare when being palpated – little to no fight
  4. We worm foals every 30 days until they are yearlings – this maximizes health and growth
  5. Immunizations are started between four and six months of age
  6. We watch for signs of failure to thrive or nurse and lethargy
